Creating a Shared Vision for the Next Century

The National Trust for Historic Preservation is excited to forge a partnership with a diverse group of local community organizations and stakeholders, the City of Los Angeles, and the Autry Museum of the American West to identify viable options and sustainable uses for this beloved landmark. We also want to hear from you! Below are five ways you can get involved in our work right now.

What People Are Saying

What would you most like to do at the Southwest Museum Site? We heard from more than 1,600 people across Los Angeles and the Southwest who told us that they want to experience a dynamic mix of exhibits, galleries, and park space, enlivened by a range of programming such as film, music, panel discussions, educational programming, arts and crafts fairs, and other events that celebrate LA’s history and southwest history and culture, while drawing on the Southwest Museum collection along with other exhibits and collections. Take a look at our Online Survey Results and Stakeholder Interview Summary Report to see what others have told us so far. Then please take a moment to tell us what kinds of activities would draw you to this special place on a regular basis!
